Most students prepare for the exam and skip the two things the job actually runs on: writing an email that gets answered, and opening a spreadsheet without panic.
Both are free to learn. Neither needs a coaching fee, a degree, or a login you have to pay for.
1. Professional Email Writing (Coursera)
Write Professional Emails in English https://www.coursera.org/learn/professional-emails-english
What it covers: subject lines, tone, structure, and the follow-up email. The same skill you use to write to a recruiter, a department, a professor, or a scholarship office.
Why it matters here: almost every opportunity on Tathya ends in some form of written contact. A query about a document, a clarification on eligibility, a follow-up when a portal does not respond. That email is the first thing anyone reads about you.
Free to enrol. Verify the certificate option before you start, since that part is usually paid.
2. Excel from Basic to Advanced, with AI
Excel with A.I Masterclass https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lU-pz_wBXY
What it covers: Excel from the beginning through advanced work, with AI used alongside it.
Why it matters here: Excel is the common requirement across clerical posts, data entry roles, assistant grades, internships, and almost every private-sector desk job. It appears in job descriptions far more often than any software you will study for a degree.
Free. No registration. No fee.
What these two do not do
They will not get you selected. No course does that. They remove a specific barrier: showing up to a role that expects both skills and having neither.
Finish both and you have two things on a CV that were free, and two skills you will use on day one of any office job.
