Coaching is the default answer for competitive exam preparation, and it is the most expensive one. These three are free.
None of them replaces a serious study plan. Each removes one specific cost.
Study material and mock tests.
Mock tests are the part most self-study candidates skip, and it is the part that decides the score. Reading the syllabus tells you what is on the paper. Sitting a timed test tells you whether you can finish it.
Free lectures and notes.
The closest free substitute for classroom teaching. Useful if the gap in your preparation is a subject you never understood rather than a subject you never revised.
Built for UPSC candidates specifically.
Narrower than the other two, which is the point. General platforms cover every exam shallowly. This one covers one.
Do not open all three. Pick the one that fixes your actual gap.
If you have never sat a timed paper, start with mock tests. If a subject has never made sense, start with lectures. If you are preparing for UPSC and nothing else, start with the UPSC one.
Free resources fail people not because the material is weak but because having ten tabs open feels like preparation and is not.
