Most students find opportunities through WhatsApp forwards and coaching ads. Almost everything worth having is already sitting on a government portal, free, and nobody opens it.
Here are ten. Each one does one job.
PM Internship Scheme Internships with large companies, run as a central scheme. The stipend and the placement terms are set by the scheme, not negotiated by you.
National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) Paid apprenticeship after graduation. The route most graduates do not know exists, and the one that pays while you train.
AICTE Career Portal Career guidance, internship listings, and job resources for students in AICTE approved institutions.
SWAYAM Free online courses from IITs, IIMs, and other central institutions. The coursework is free; certification is a separate paid step.
National Digital Library of India (NDLI) Books, journals, and study material at a scale no private platform matches. Free.
Skill India Digital Hub Free skill courses, certifications, and linked opportunities under the national skilling mission.
NSDC Portal Industry linked skill training with certification and placement support. Government backed, so the certificate is recognised in places a private one is not.
National Scholarship Portal (NSP) One portal for central and state scholarships. Most students apply to one scheme and miss the others they already qualified for.
Vidya Lakshmi Portal Apply to multiple banks for an education loan from a single application, instead of walking into branches one at a time.
Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) Stores your academic credits digitally so they can be transferred between institutions. It matters when you change college, pause a degree, or resume one later.
None of these are hidden. They are unmarketed. A private platform spends money telling you it exists. A government portal does not, which is why a paid service can charge you for something one of these does for free.
Bookmark the ones that apply to you. Ignore the rest until they do.
