Tathya is operated by Manprit Gautam. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It follows the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
To match you to opportunities, we ask six things: your education level, stream, date of birth, category, state and gender. Depending on your answers we may also ask your current class or your degree.
We ask these because government eligibility rules are written in these terms. An age limit needs your date of birth. A category-based relaxation needs your category. A state recruitment needs your state. We cannot match you without them.
If you create an account, we also store your phone number. That is how you sign in and where alerts are sent. When you tap Pay, we fill it in on Razorpay's payment form for you, and you can change it there.
You may optionally give us more: your name, your qualifying percentage, and your years of experience. These are optional, and where they are optional we say so.
Some opportunities ask for sensitive details, such as family income band and disability status. We ask for these only when an opportunity you have actually matched requires them, never speculatively, and you can always decline.
We do not collect your address, your marks, your documents, your Aadhaar, your bank details or your card details. Payment is handled by Razorpay and we never see your payment information.
Only to run Tathya: to match you, to rank your opportunities, to send you alerts, to take payment when you buy Tathya Pro, and to keep your account working. Nothing else.
We do not sell your data. We use Meta's advertising tools so our ads reach the right people, and Meta receives which pages you visited on this site.
Meta Pixel is the script that does this. It records the pages you open here, four steps of your journey (results shown, signed in, unlock tapped, payment completed) and sets a cookie in your browser. It is not loaded on the login or profile pages, and we send it nothing from them. If you reach one of those pages from another page here, the script that was already running stays on the page and still records that page view.
We share data only with the services that make Tathya work:
Each of these only receives what it needs to do its job.
We record how pages are used so we can see where people get stuck. What you type or select is hidden on your device before anything is sent.
We may disclose data if a law or a court requires it.
You may use Tathya, but a parent or guardian must agree to this policy on your behalf before you do.
If you are a parent and you want your child's data removed, email us and we will delete it.
If you never create an account, your answers live in a cookie on your own device for 30 days and are never stored by us.
If you have an account, we keep your profile while the account exists. Ask us to delete it and everything goes 7 days later: your profile, your matches, your phone number and the record of messages we sent you. You can change your mind during those 7 days, and we stop messaging you the moment you ask.
Your phone number is also held by our WhatsApp Business provider, which delivers your sign-in codes and alerts. When you ask us to erase your data, we delete your record from Tathya and ask the provider to delete theirs. Their own retention may be longer than ours.
If you pay, Razorpay also keeps the phone number the payment was made with, as part of its own record of that payment. Erasing your data from Tathya does not remove it from Razorpay, and how long Razorpay keeps it is set by Razorpay, not by us. When you tap Pay, we create an order with Razorpay, and that order carries the internal ID of your Tathya account, a random code rather than your name or number, whether or not you go on to pay. Erasing your data from Tathya does not remove it from Razorpay either.
We keep payment records for 8 years, because Indian tax law requires books of account to be available for 6 years after the end of the assessment year, and longer if an assessment or appeal is open. Payment records are the one thing we do not delete when you ask to be erased. What stays is the amount, the date and the order number, with your name and account removed.
Backups we made before you asked are not searched and are replaced on their own schedule.
When you use Tathya we briefly record a scrambled form of your internet address, so that one device cannot flood the service with requests. It is not stored with your answers, we cannot read your address back from it, and it is deleted automatically after 24 hours.
Under the DPDP Act you can:
Email tathyaresearchofficial@gmail.com for any of these. We reply within 30 days.
Your sign-in codes are stored scrambled, never in plain text. We use an encrypted connection. Access to the database is restricted.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board, as the law requires.
We use cookies to remember your six answers, keep you signed in, and let our analytics and advertising tools recognise your browser.
Manprit Gautam, tathyaresearchofficial@gmail.com
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes. If the change is significant, we will tell account holders.
